A: Here are a few pointers on locating old videos. Firstly, try looking around at local video stores. Stores often have them on the shelf, or in a for-sale-bin. Also, if the store is going out of business, you can usually find old videos dirt cheap. Don't ask me how you are supposed to know when a store is going under; it's mostly just luck, but I got a few videos that way, so you can, too.
Next, check online auction sites, like http://pages.ebay.com, or http://www.yahoo.com's auction site. Often times, people are selling their old videos because they have spares or need the money.
Another method is to ask friends and family. Ask friends of your family members. Ask people on the street... Okay, maybe don't go up to random strangers, but you get the picture.
Yet another method is to check http://cybertoon.tripod.com/. They often have information as to what series is being aired, and/or being re-released on tape.
Still another method is to check my For
Sale page, because I usually have a few spare videos up for grabs.
Q:
"Will you make me copies of the Thundercats, Silverhawks, etc? I'll
even pay you."
A:
No. I will not make you copies of my cartoon collections. It's not
because I'm mean or anything like that; it's just my general policy.
If you really want videos, read the above question.
Q:
"Where can I get action figures, vehicles, etc?"
A: Check online
auction sites, like http://pages.ebay.com,
or http://www.yahoo.com's auction site.
Also, check http://cybertoon.tripod.com/
to see if any figures are going to be re-released.
Q: "Do
you have videos or toys for sale?"
A:
Sometimes I do, sometimes I don't, depending on how things go. To
see what I have for sale, check out my For Sale page
on the main page.
Q: "Will
you email me when you have videos and toys for sale?"
A:
Sorry, but I get this request so much, I can't email everyone when I get
videos or toys in stock. I'm afraid you'll have to check the For
Sale page every now and then to see if I've added an item you might
want to buy.
A:
Sorry, but no; tight budget and what not. Thanks for the offer, though.
If I were you, I'd try selling it on http://pages.ebay.com,
or http://www.yahoo.com's auction site,
or check around in your local area to see if there are some collectors.
Q:
"Where do you get your pix?"
A:
Many of my images came from a Snappy 2. It is a simple digitizer that lets
me take still images of stuff I have on tapes that I either recorded off
tv or bought someplace. Now a'days, I have an ATI All-In-Wonder Pro to
digitize with. Either way, I just pop a video tape into the vcr,
and presto!
Q:
"What about the pix that aren't screen shots?"
A: If they weren't screen shots, then they were either scanned or raytraced, and were created by me or my close friends (mostly me).
A:
"Pix" is a slang spelling of "pics", which is short for "pictures".
The word "pix" refers to pictures/images/graphics.
Q:
"None of the links at the bottom of your media archive work. Why
can't I download things by clicking on them?"
A:
The two lists at the bottom of the Media Archive are NOT
LINKS. They are lists of every theme
song and avi that I have posted on the Media Archive. These au's
(sound files) and avi's (video files) will be rotated in as "Flashbacks"
about once a week, along with new files.
Q:
"Can I borrow your video files (avi, mpg, etc)? Can I borrow your
sound clips (au, wav, mp3, etc)?"
A:
I would much prefer that you did not (if you have not already); if you
are using my clips, please desist. Buying tapes of various cartoons
and equipment to put it onto the computer has been very costly. Very,
very costly. That is why I would appreciate it if no one would post
my avi's and sound clips. It's nothing personal, and I'm not trying
to be mean. However,
I know that material from certain cartoons is hard to come by (and expensive),
so I offer you an opportunity for some free pictures, as mentioned in the
below question.
A: You need
to read the picture borrowing policy in the Picture Galleries section.
Click
here to view my image borrowing policy.
Q: "How do you make
movies (avi-video files)?"
A: With my spear and
magic helmet... I mean, with my ATI All-In-Wonder Pro.
A: I record them from
my vcr into the back of my sound card and/or my ATI All-In-Wonder Pro with
some software similar to that of the Sound Recorder that comes with Windows.
I then convert it from a .wav to an .au with a shareware program I found
someplace on the net (I forget where). That program is called Sox.
A: Well, I just don't
have the time to maintain a fan-fiction section. If it's fan-fiction you're
looking for, check out my links. Some of them might have fan-fiction,
or links to fan-fiction sites.
A: Yup.
A: Sometimes I'm really
busy, sometimes I'm not. Sometimes I have really bad computer problems,
too. And sometimes I'm just lazy.
A: Frequently asked
questions.
A: If it's a link to a site other than mine, they might be temporarily down. Every now and then I go through the links, and if a site is down for a really long time, I remove it.
If it's a link to something on my site, then please let
me know so I can fix it.
A: Ummm, it's the
current moon phase. ;o) Seriously though, there's just a truck-load
of stuff on the to do list for this website, and that's if life doesn't
happen while I'm working on it. Please be patient and I'll get to
stuff at some unknown point in time.
A: In a nutshell,
it's all a big (quazi free) hobby. Well, the Thundercats site I made
because I was bored and wanted to share the memories. (That was back
when they hadn't been on the air for 10 years or so). The Literature
Critique page was made for a school project. ETPOR and the Picture
Gallery are sections of the Thundercats site that I decided had gotten
big enough to become their own sections. Both those two and the Media
Archive were initially created for the same reasons as the Tcat area.
While I was at it, I thought I would make a cool stuff section because
I had some funny things and I wanted to share the smiles. Waaaay
back, though, everything started with my (currently down) raytracing page,
which started because I was bored and was learning html code in school
and figured I'd put it to use. And there you have it.
