Okay, let's see what I can remember about the star.  Actually, I remember quite a bit, but most of it is useless information; so I will just list things that I feel someone in a Lit class could use concerning common topics on Hamlet. Here are some quick links you can use to skip to the various sections on this page.
Hamlet is Sane Hamlet is Insane Hamlet is NOT a wimp/coward Hamlet IS a wimp/coward Why the delay?

I think one of the big questions that Literature teachers like to give their students to write essays about is the sanity of Hamlet (or lack of sanity, depending on your viewpoint).  I, myself, think that he was pretty sane, but I shall list a few arguments for either case.

Hamlet is sane:

Well, that's enough reasons to argue that Hamlet is sane. Now, for the insanity arguments. Remember, these will tend to be completely opposite of the ones listed above: Okay, time to change subjects. Let's see, what's another big topic that Lit teachers like to give. Oh, yes. I remember. One topic is whether Hamlet is a wimp/coward. That was my topic, by the way; whether he was a wimp or not. Really, my thesis for my term paper was "Hamlet is not a wimp" and then said why. Made an "A", too (I'm so proud). Anyway here's the arguments.

Hamlet is not a wimp/coward:

All right, now for the wimpy/cowardly arguments: Okay, here's the last major thing that the literature teachers might want you to write about.  Why does Hamlet take so long in avenging his father?  Why the delay?  There isn't really a write answer, just some theories on why Shakespeare had Hamlet take so long: Well, that's it for this section.
