Madame Pernelle:  Orgon's mother.  Heavily under Tartuffe's influence.

Orgon:  Elmire's husband, and head of the house.  Buried under Tartuffe's influence.  Has a big temper.

Elmire:  Orgon's wife.  Unfooled by Tartuffe.

Damis:  Orgon's son, Elmire's stepson.  Also unfooled by Tartuffe.  Inherited his father's temper.

Mariane:  Orgon's daughter, Elmire's stepdaughter.  In love with Valere.  Not at all taken in by Tartuffe.  (Pronounced Mary Anne)

Valere:  No, not that hit song by the Monkees.  He's in love with Mariane.  Like most of the main characters, is not deceived by Tartuffe.

Cleante:  Orgon's brother-in-law.  Cool headed.  Not bamboozled by Tartuffe the least little bit.

Tartuffe:  The "mega-mondo" hypocrite, in the guise of a holy man.  (He's the baddy, folks)

Dorine:  Mariane's lady's maid.  Good common sense.  Not beguiled by Tartuffe.

Monsieur Loyal:  A bailiff.

A Police Officer:  You know you have an unimportant role when...  You don't even get a name.

Flipote:  Madame Pernelle's maid.
